About the Role
We're looking for a passionate and community-focused Skills Reconnect Officer to join our Training Services team and support adults to re-engage with education, training, and employment pathways.
Working within the Victorian Skills Reconnect Program, you will support individuals who may have experienced barriers to education, employment, or social participation. Through outreach, participant engagement, case management, and practical support, you'll help people build confidence, develop skills, and achieve meaningful personal and employment outcomes.
This is an incredibly rewarding role where you'll work directly with participants, community organisations, training providers, and employers to create pathways that change lives. If you're passionate about empowering people and making a genuine impact in your community, we'd love to hear from you.
You'll be Responsible for:
• Identifying
and engaging eligible participants who are disconnected from education,
training, or employment
• Conducting holistic needs assessments to identify barriers and support
requirements
• Providing participant-centred case management and ongoing support throughout
the program
• Supporting participants to build confidence, motivation, employability, and
readiness for study or work
• Facilitating workshops and group activities focused on employability, digital
literacy, confidence building, and life skills
• Coordinating referrals to education providers, training programs, employers,
and support services
• Building strong relationships with community organisations, referral
partners, and stakeholders
• Maintaining accurate participant records, case notes, and program
documentation
• Supporting compliance with Skills Reconnect funding requirements and
reporting obligations
• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and positive participant
outcomes
About You
You're passionate about helping people overcome barriers and achieve their goals.
You bring empathy, resilience, and strong relationship-building skills, combined with the ability to work collaboratively with participants, community organisations, and stakeholders. You enjoy supporting people through change and take pride in helping others achieve positive outcomes.
You will bring:
• Experience
supporting disadvantaged, vulnerable, or diverse participant groups
• Experience in case management, client support, community services, education,
employment services, or a related field
• Strong communication, engagement, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to build trust and establish effective working relationships
• Experience identifying barriers and developing practical support strategies
• Strong organisational and administrative skills
• Ability to maintain accurate records and meet compliance requirements
• Commitment to trauma-informed, culturally safe, and participant-centred
practice
Bonus points if you have:
• Certificate
III or higher in Community Services, Youth Work, Education, Employment
Services, or a related discipline
• Experience facilitating workshops, group sessions, or training activities
• Knowledge of the Victorian Skills Reconnect Program
• Experience working within government-funded community, education, or
