Employer Engagement Coordinator

Our Transition to Work (TtW) program delivers tailored employment and education support to young people aged 15-24, who are at risk of long-term unemployment in the North-Western Melbourne/Barwon Employment Regions. We work towards the same, purpose-led goal of improving lives through dignity and choice. We have a new opportunity for an experienced business development professional to join our team on a permanent full-time basis.

About the role

We’re seeking an Employer Engagement Coordinator to strengthen employer partnerships and grow employment opportunities for young people participating in our Transition to Work (TtW) program. It's a 12-month fixed-term contract.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships, spotting opportunities, and working out in the community rather than being desk-bound. You’ll work closely with program teams to connect employers with job-ready participants, promote Opendoor’s services, and support strong employment outcomes across Melbourne.

Key responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong employer relationships to secure work trials, internships and sustainable employment
  • Proactively identify new business and labour market opportunities across the region
  • Promote the Transition to Work program through networking, events and marketing activities
  • Manage vacancies, pre-screen candidates and support reverse marketing activities
  • Collaborate with internal teams to achieve placement, retention and KPI targets
  • Maintain accurate records and reporting in line with contract and compliance requirements

About you

You are relationship-focused, outcomes-driven and comfortable working in a target-based, community-focused environment. You bring a genuine passion for supporting young people and employers to succeed.

You will have:

  • Proven experience in employer engagement, business development, marketing or a related field
  • Ability to build productive partnerships with employers, job seekers and community stakeholders
  • Strong communication, negotiation and relationship management skills
  • Qualification in Community Services or related field would be desirable
  • Experience working with people from diverse backgrounds and with barriers to employment or education
  • Knowledge of employment services programs and compliance requirements (desirable)
  • Victorian Driver’s Licence
  • Working with Children Check and National Police Check (or ability to obtain)
  • Genuine passion for advocating for and empowering marginalised youth.

Why Join Opendoor?

When you join Opendoor, you’ll be part of a workplace that’s:

  • Values-driven – where optimism, inclusion and respect guide everything we do
  • Supports flexible working arrangements, including the option of a rostered day off (RDO).
  • Rewarding – with access to salary packaging to increase your take-home pay
  • Collaborative – you’ll work with passionate people making a difference every day
